Online, Deals Important For Holiday Shopping

Consumers plan to do most of their shopping online this holiday season, while making sure they get the best value for the money on gifts, says a survey by RetailMeNot.ca. However, they don’t plan to cut back on spending, with a third of shoppers planning to spend more than $500 on gifts for loved ones this season. With the move to online shopping, speed of delivery (44 per cent) is a key factor for shoppers because they want to make sure their gifts arrive on time. Supporting local businesses is also important to Canadians with 44 per cent listing it as a priority. For shoppers that may have missed the deadline for delivery before Christmas, retailers can suggest BOPIS (buy online pick-up in-store) or curbside pick-up.
