Store Closures Affect BB&B Sales

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. had net sales of $2.6 billion for the third quarter of fiscal 2020, a decrease of five per cent compared to net sales of $2.8 billion in the second quarter of 2019. This decrease is due to a significant portfolio transformation, including the divestitures of non-core banners and stores. The top five categories – home organization, kitchen food prep, bedding, bath, and indoor décor – had comparable sales growth of 11 per cent combined. These categories represent two-thirds of its total banner sales in the third quarter. Comparable overall digital sales increased 77 per cent year-over-year.
