Amazon Canada Invests In Quebec

Amazon Canada is investing in two sortation centres and its three delivery stations in Quebec. The delivery stations are the first such facilities the online retailer has in the province. The facilities “will help us meet our customers' growing demand for great products and faster delivery times,” says Jean-Francois Héroux, site leader, Amazon Canada. “Our expansion will also help the thousands of local small businesses that partner with Amazon to get their products to customers around the world, particularly during this critical time for their business." The largest of the sortation centres offers 520,000 square feet and will be located in Coteau-du-Lac. It is expected to open this year. The Longueuil centre features 200,000 square feet and opened just before the holiday shopping season in 2020. The delivery stations are planned to open during 2021 and 2022 and will be located in Ernest-Cormier,  Lachine, and Laval. Delivery stations power the last mile of Amazon's order fulfillment process. Packages are transported to delivery stations from Amazon fulfillment and sortation centres and then loaded into vehicles for delivery to customers.
