Higher Volume Drives Sherwin-Williams Sales

The Sherwin-Williams Company had consolidated net sales of $4.49 billion for the fourth quarter of 2020, up 9.1 per cent compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. The increase was primarily due to higher paint sales volume in the Americas group and higher sales in the consumer brands group and performance coatings group. The Americas group had net sales of $10.39 billion for the quarter, up 2.1 per cent year-over-year; the consumers brands group had net sales of $3.05 billion, up 14.1 per cent; and the performance coatings group had net sales of $4.92 billion, down 2.5 per cent. Overall net income was $407 million for the quarter compared to $248.6 million in the year-ago period and income before taxes was $503.9 million compared to $297.4 million.
