Pricing Drives Masonite Sales

Masonite International Corporation had net sales of $619 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, an increase of 16 per cent from $531 million in the fourth quarter of 2019. The increase was the result of an increase in average unit price (AUP), base volume, component sales, and favourable foreign exchange. North American residential net sales were $453 million, a 26 per cent increase compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. Architectural net sales were $77 million, a 10 per cent decrease compared to the year-ago period. Total company gross profit increased 28 per cent to $142 million in the quarter and gross profit margin increased 200 basis points to 22.9 per cent. Net income was $27 million, an increase of $25 million over the same period a year ago.
