Condominiums Lead Home Sale Markets

Condominiums led February home sale markets in both Montreal and Quebec City, QC, says the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB). In the Montreal census metropolitan area (CMA), condominiums compensated for the decrease in single-family home sales with residential sales down three per cent, the first time since 2015 that sales decreased in a month of February. Plexes had strong growth at 19 per cent, with condominiums up eight per cent. Quebec City home sales were up by six per cent in February, with condominium sales up 50 per cent and single-family homes down 11 per cent. Single-family homes had a record-setting drop in listings (61 per cent) in February and condominium listings had a 32 per cent drop.
