WD-40 Net Sales Increase

WD-40 Company had total net sales of $111.9 million for the second quarter of 2021, an increase of 12 per cent compared to net sales in the second quarter of 2020. Net sales in the Americas decreased one per cent year-over-year. Translation of foreign subsidiary results to U.S. dollars had a favourable impact on sales. Net income for the quarter was $17.2 million, an increase of 20 per cent compared to the prior year fiscal quarter. Gross margin was 55.4 per cent compared to 53.6 per cent in the prior year fiscal quarter. Advertising and sales promotion expenses were up 13 per cent in the second quarter to $5.5 million when compared to the prior year fiscal quarter. Net sales of maintenance products increased 13 per cent year-over-year and net sales of homecare and cleaning products increased three per cent.
