Whirlpool Delivers Strong First Quarter Results

Whirlpool Corporation had net sales of $5.4 billion for the first quarter of 2021, an increase of 23.9 per cent compared to net sales of $4.3 billion in the first quarter of 2020. The increase was driven by sustained global industry demand and cost-based pricing actions. Net earnings margin was up 450 basis points to 8.1 per cent compared to the prior-year quarter. Net earnings were $433 million for the quarter, up 181.2 per cent compared to net earnings of $153 million in 2020.
