Weyerhaeuser Has Record Earnings

Weyerhaeuser Company had net earnings of $681 million for the first quarter of 2021, an increase over net sales of $150 million in the first quarter of 2020. Net sales for the quarter were $2.5 billion compared to $1.7 billion in the year-ago period and adjusted earnings were $1.1 billion compared to $413 million. This is the highest adjusted earnings in a quarter on record for the company despite severe weather and supply chain disruptions. Sales for the timberlands division were $513 million in the first quarter versus $502 million in the fourth quarter of 2020, while sales for the wood products division were $2,021 million versus $1,652 million.
