Calgary’s Housing Market Far From Slowing Down

Calgary’s housing market has no sign of slowing down and it “is taking time for supply to catch up with the demand in the market,” says Ann-Marie Lurie, chief economist for the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB). The sales-to-new-listings ratio was 76 per cent for detached homes. However, semi-detached home sales are showing signs of slowing down, although year-to-date sales remain a record high. New listings of semi-detacheds have also reached new highs this year. Record highs for new listings also apply to rows causing inventories to trend up over recent months to levels higher than typical.
