Retailers Will Change Their In-Store Models

Older models don’t work anymore for retailers, said Brian Field, senior director of retail consulting practice at Sensomatic Solutions, at the ‘Omnichannel & Shopping Centers: Tenant & Landlord Pathway to Profitability,’ webinar hosted by Chain Store Age: The Business of Retail. As the retail industry evolves post-pandemic, retailers will adapt through outlining a new model of engagement, they will focus on the level of service needed based off in-store traffic, and outline where exactly sales are coming from in order to place a new focus (curbside, in-store, online). “As customers begin going back into the store, retailers will begin re-inventing themselves to increase efficiently to tailor to the omnichannel, adapted consumer,” said Daniel Taub, senior vice-president at Marcus & Millichap.
