New Composite Wood Regulations Coming Into Force

The final ‘Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products Regulations’ under CEPA 1999 which prohibit the import, sale, or offer for sale of composite wood products that emit formaldehyde above the established limits will come into force in 2023, says the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association (CPCA). While in alignment with the U.S., it also requires that composite wood panels and laminated products must be certified by a qualified third-party certifier (TPC) prior to import or sale.
