Home Improvement Industry Wins Big

Several retailers in the home improvement industry were recognized for their excellence by the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) at the ‘2021 Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala’ (ERA). RCC says the competition was especially fierce this year, with ties in several categories. Among the winners in the home improvement industry were Federated Co-operatives Limited for environmental leadership; Lowe's Canada for omni-channel; Canadian Tire Corporation for pop-up experience and design; Lee Valley Tools Ltd. for retail marketing; and Home Depot Canada for talent development. "Retailers in Canada have experienced a challenging year,” says Diane J. Brisebois, president and CEO of RCC. “They have had to change, adapt, and grow quickly, yet they are also motivated by the challenge of change. They are constantly innovating and proving their winning creativity. The year's ERA recipients have demonstrated ingenuity and steadfast commitment to superior customer service, progressive business solutions, and operational leadership."
