Employee Wellbeing Beyond Health Benefits

Employee wellbeing has evolved from solely about health benefits and absence of illness to optimizing the health of all employees physically, in their career, socially, financially, in their community, and overall emotionally, says Marie-Josée Nucci, human resources consultant and project manager for Go RH. Losing an employee can cost an organization 1.5 to 2.5 times the employees salary and organizations that support mental health see a return of $1.50 to $4 for every dollar invested says Nucci. Additionally, mental health claims are the fastest growing category of disability costs in Canada. Common psychological problems growing for employees in the workplace is stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout.
