LP Building Solutions Releases Its 2021 Sustainability Report

LP Building Solutions (LP) has outlined their five pillars of sustainability in their 2021 Sustainability Report ‒governance, people, environment, products, and community. The report says the company aims to elevate people and community through its health and safety programs, governed by an environmental health and safety protocol standard and by relying on an advanced form of safety management that measures serious injury and fatality potential to prevent incidents before they occur. Its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) pledge for action, prioritizes gender and racial diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the company’s dedication to volunteerism and philanthropy. To promote environmental stewardship and minimize waste, it uses more than 99 per cent of the fibre harvested for manufacturing in products or as an alternative thermal energy source and nearly 80 per cent of LP's thermal energy is derived from renewable energy sources. Additionally, the report says the company commits to sustainable forestry, highlighted by its third-party forest certification to independent standards from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.
