Home Hardware Supports Operation Christmas Child

Thanks to the efforts of a dozen Home Hardware dealers in northern Ontario and the generosity of their customers and communities, more than 2,700 shoe boxes packed with toys and necessities will be delivered to children in need around the world this holiday season. These efforts are part of Operation Christmas Child – an annual initiative organized by Samaritan’s Purse. The campaign encourages community members to fill shoe boxes with gifts such as school supplies, hygiene products, toys, and clothing. Participating Home Hardware stores collect the fill boxes and then Home Hardware Stores Limited takes care of related shipping costs to transport the boxes to Samaritan’s Purse in Calgary, AB, so they can be inspected, then sent abroad. Home Hardware Stores Limited has been involved in Operation Christmas Child since 1996. The partnership has grown to include a network of Home stores that participate in the program each year, with Home Hardware’s distribution centres helping to co-ordinate shipping of the boxes.
