BB&B Has Slow Quarter

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. had net sales of $1.878 million for the third quarter of 2021, a decrease of 14 per cent compared to the third quarter of 2020. The decline was primarily due to the impact of fleet optimization and non-core banner divestitures. Comparable sales declined seven per cent year-over-year. The company had gross margin of 35.6 per cent, up 50 basis points compared to the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings before taxes were $41 million compared to $121 million last year.
