Consumers Increase Digital Activity Despite Fraud Concerns

More than half of global consumers have been a victim of fraud or know someone who has, says Experian’s annual ‘Global Identity & Fraud Report.’ Most respondents say that despite these concerns, their online activity will increase in the next three months. Balancing the need for security with the convenience of online transactions comes down to companies they trust. They also say that companies that provide consistent positive digital experiences make them more trustworthy regardless of company size. Nearly 75 per cent of consumers expect businesses to take the necessary steps to protect them online, with 70 per cent of businesses saying preventing fraud is their highest concern.
