Canadians Continue Small Business Support

Canadians currently spend 30 per cent of their budget at small business, says a survey by RBC. Sixty-five per cent of respondents and 70 per cent of Millennials have transacted with a small business in-person or online in the last month, with 70 per cent also planning to spend at small businesses in the future. Seventy-four per cent of respondents would like to see businesses seek out and offer environmentally sustainable options, with 72 per cent of business owners aligned on the subject. Social responsibility and diversity are also important as Canadians actively seek out and support 2SLGBTQ+ (49 per cent) and BIPOC-owned (60 per cent) businesses, products, and services. Sixty-six per cent of Canadians say consuming and conducting business in a socially responsible way will play a bigger role in influencing their purchasing and business in decisions in the next 12 months. On top of that, innovation, digital solutions, and diversification are also driving Canadian purchasing decisions.
