Henkel Invests In Hardwood Technology Company

Henkel Adhesive Technologies, through Henkel Tech Ventures, is investing in 3RT, a company that develops low-value wood fibre into hardwood products. Based in Melbourne, Australia, 3RT and its partners have developed a robotic process to convert forest and plantation residue into hardwood products. Based on a patented process, it applies a water-based, formaldehyde-free Nano-bonding agent that bio-mimics the structure of a natural tree. The technology platform uses advanced robotics and smart automation to create products of high-quality appearance. It is 100 per cent natural and recyclable. With the investment, Henkel aims to further expand its engineered wood business and help drive the implementation of sustainable future-oriented technologies.
