Home Depot and Lowe’s: A comparative look at market performance

The competition between Home Depot (HD) and Lowe’s (LOW) continues to shape the US home improvement market. On June 20, 2024, HD shares increased by 0.67%, while LOW shares rose by 0.47%, reflecting ongoing investor interest.

Home Depot leads the industry with a market cap of $350.9 billion and 62.1% market share, compared to Lowe's $129.8 billion market cap and 34.9% share. HD's 2023 sales reached over $152 billion, surpassing LOW's $86 billion.

Strategically, both companies focus on expanding their digital presence and enhancing customer experiences. HD targets professional customers, while LOW highlights non-discretionary projects. HD’s projected fiscal 2024 revenue is $154.2 billion, while LOW expects a decline to $84.6 billion.

Despite the challenges, both remain attractive investments with strong dividend payouts and an upward trend in terms of stock performance.
