Home Sales Strong In Quebec Markets

Quebec City had strong home sales growth, up 40 per cent for October over September, says the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB). The increase was lead by the South Shore which had sales growth of 66 per cent and the northern periphery with growth of 49 per cent. Sales for plexes set a record, up 65 per cent over September, while condominiums increased 61 per cent and single-family homes increased 38 per cent. Montreal also showed solid gains, with significant increases in many periphery markets. Vaudreuil-Soulanges had an increase in home sales of 63 per cent, the North Shore was up 52 per cent, Laval was up 38 per cent, and Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu was up 33 per cent over September. Plexes led gains in this market as well, with an increase of 37 per cent over September, followed by condominiums at 12 per cent.
