Improved Housing Market Helps BlueLinx Sales

Building products distributor BlueLinx had that third quarter sales of $871 million, a 28 per cent increase over the $679 million in the third quarter 2019. It had a net income of $55 million for the quarter, a big swing from a net loss of $7 million in the prior third quarter. It says that the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic was offset by the improving housing market and rapid escalation in wood-based commodity prices.
