Montreal receives nearly $3 million for sustainable building and transport initiatives
The Government of Canada announced nearly $3 million in federal funding to support sustainable wood construction technologies in the Montreal region.
The investment, delivered through Natural Resources Canada’s Green Construction through Wood (GCWood) program and the Zero Emission Vehicle Awareness Initiative (ZEVAI), will support three projects led by FPInnovations.
Over $2.5 million will fund initiatives to expand low-carbon wood construction by generating data for the inclusion of wood systems in building codes. Additionally, $212,000 will aid in developing zero-emission vehicle resources for the forestry and commercial transportation sectors.
These investments aim to reduce emissions and modernize construction, benefiting communities and promoting environmental sustainability.
