Pomerleau calls for action to address issues in Canadian construction sector
Canadian construction firm Pomerleau is sounding the alarm about the urgent need to address Canada’s critical infrastructure needs while facing a significant labor shortage. A recent survey conducted by Pomerleau and Léger revealed that while the public recognizes the importance of the construction industry, outdated perceptions about the work persist.
“We need to restore the construction industry to its former glory. We have a responsibility to help people discover its most attractive features,” said Philippe Adam, Pomerleau’s CEO.
To attract the 300,000 workers needed in the next decade, Pomerleau is implementing various initiatives, including a state-of-the-art training center, an internship program, and support for diversity and inclusion. The company aims to make construction trades more appealing and inclusive, ensuring Canada can build the essential infrastructure required for a thriving future.
